Sales of state-owned land and land valuation

The Land Board organizes sales of lands that are not needed by the state through public auctions.

The Land Board also conducts the proceedings for the acquisition of immovables under nature conservation restrictions. The Land Board’s task is also to supervise, organize and coordinate activities in the field of land valuation.

To fulfil this task, the Land Board maintains the Transactions Database, which receives data on all real property transactions directly from notaries. Information on the Estonian real estate market (including price levels of land transactions) and the statistics of real property transactions in Estonia is available on the Land Board’s homepage.

For land valuation the Land Board issues land valuation licenses, which entitle the licenced person to perform land assessments, appraisals and valuation of unlawfully expropriated land.
