Aircraft and the right to drive an aircraft

The operations related to aircrafts in Estonia are performed by the Estonian Civil Aviation Administration. The website of the Estonian CAA provides information on how to register, change data or delete an aircraft from the register.

The necessary application forms are also provided.

On the basis of an aviation licence, the state authorises the owner to operate in a specific field of activity, where the failure to follow regulations could harm aviation safety. The authorisation proves that the holder of the licence has demonstrated their competence on an internationally accepted level.

Private pilot of an airplane

The applicant has to pass a flight skills test for private pilots of airplanes on a mono- or semi-engined airplane according to the uniform aviation requirements (JAR-FCL 1). The skills test has to be passed by the applicant within six months of the completion of the practical training programme.

Private pilot of a helicopter

The applicant shall pass a flight skills test for private pilots of helicopters according to the uniform aviation requirements (JAR-FCL 2). The skills test shall be passed by the applicant within six months of the completion of the practical training programme.
