Pregnancy
Health insurance for women with children
I trimester
A pregnant woman living in Estonia is entitled to health insurance once her pregnancy has been confirmed by a doctor or a midwife. After the pregnancy is confirmed, the necessary information is submitted to the health insurance register, and the Tervisekassa registers the health insurance within five working days after receiving the required documents.
Health insurance for a pregnant woman remains valid until three months after the expected date of birth determined by a doctor or midwife. During this period, the woman is entitled to healthcare services covered by health insurance.
You can check the status of your health insurance in the Health Insurance Fund’s self-service portal.
