Submission of a forest notification and forest inventory data

Forest owners or their representatives must submit to the Environmental Board forest notifications about any cuttings planned (other than cleaning), as well as about significant damage to the forest.

Forest owners may cut up to 20 cubic metres of wood per immovable property per year without submitting a forest notification.

The forest notification can be submitted:

The Environmental Board checks the compliance of the forest notification and the compliance of the planned cutting with the requirements laid down by legislation within 15 working days. If making a decision on the planned cutting calls for coordination or a forest protection expert assessment pursuant to subsection 29 (12) of the Forest Act, the Environmental Board may take up to 30 working days to check the forest notification.

Cuttings which are compliant with legislation and significant damage to the forest are registered in the forest register. If the forest notification is submitted on paper or by email in a digitally signed format, the Environmental Board will send an extract from the register to the person who submitted the forest notification on the registration of the cutting.

Further information about the submission of forest notifications is available on the website of the Environmental Board.

If you have any questions, please call the customer support of the Environmental Board (662 5999, Mon.–Thur. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Fri 9 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.) or send an email to [email protected].
