Newborn health monitoring starts immediately after birth and involves a number of important checks and procedures, including initial health checks, vaccinations and home visits to ensure the baby's well-being and development.
Important to know concerning this step
The Health Insurance Fund registers children under the age of 19 on the basis of data from the population register. Children whose details are in order in the population register and whose main residence address is defined in Estonia are covered.
If the child's details have not been entered in the Health Insurance Fund's database after the birth certificate has been issued, parents are kindly asked to contact the Health Insurance Fund's customer service or call +372 669 6630 for further instructions.
