Confirming the time
In this step spouses do not have to do anything. The vital statistics officer of the local government of the county center reviews the application for divorce submitted in the e-population register. Confirmation is sent to the spouses about the suitability of the time of divorce specified in the application, or the officer contacts the spouses to agree on the necessary changes.
If the application for divorce is submitted in the local government of the county center or at a notary on the spot, the time for the divorce is agreed upon when the application is submitted. Additional confirmation is not required.
Important to know concerning this step
It is possible to change the time of divorce up to the date of divorce agreed upon when filing the application for divorce. The change request must be notified by e-mail to the local government of the county center or to the notary where the application for divorce was submitted, and a new time must be agreed upon. When choosing a new time, it should be kept in mind that no more than three months have passed since filing of the application for divorce.
If the spouses do not show up for the divorce at the agreed time, it is considered that they have not submitted the application for divorce. If the spouses still want to divorce, they must file a new application.
